What to bring to your therapy appointment
For your first appointment, you will need to bring your New Client Intake or Couples Intake, depending on your appointment type.
You don’t need to bring anything specific to your ongoing therapy sessions. However, we recommend bringing an open mind and a willingness to engage in the therapeutic process. It can also be helpful to come prepared to discuss any topics or concerns that you’d like to address during your session. Additionally, if you have any relevant documents or materials that you believe would be beneficial to share with your therapist, feel free to bring them along. Ultimately, the most important thing to bring to therapy is yourself, as you are, ready to explore and work towards your goals for healing and growth.
No, I do not accept any insurance in my practice. This is what is referred to as a “fee-for-service-practice.”
Cancellation Policies
Since I reserve the time you’ve set for your appointment, I require a 24 hour cancellation notice. If you do not cancel within 24 hours of the time of your scheduled appointment, you will be responsible for full payment. Insurance companies do not reimburse for canceled appointments. Thank you in advance for respecting this policy.
Yes, our cancellation policy applies regardless of whether it is a weekend, holiday, or weekday within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. We kindly request that clients provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid being charged for the session. This policy ensures fairness to both our therapists and clients by allowing us to manage our schedules effectively and accommodate other clients in need of care. Please reach out to us as soon as possible if you need to make changes to your appointment due to unexpected events.
Our cancellation policy is in place to ensure fairness to both our clients and therapists. When appointments are canceled with short notice or missed altogether, it can disrupt our therapist’s schedule and prevent other clients from receiving timely care. Additionally, our therapists dedicate time and resources to prepare for each appointment, and last-minute cancellations result in lost opportunities to provide support to those in need. By adhering to our cancellation policy, we can maintain the quality and availability of our services for all clients. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in respecting our policy.
Insurance
I do not accept any insurance in my practice. This is what is referred to as a “fee-for-service-practice.” That said, there are some insurance plans that reimburse some portion of the fee for treatment by an out-of-network provider. I suggest that you check with your insurance plan to see if that applies to you.
Receiving reimbursement for therapy costs is at the discretion of your individual healthcare provider plan. Please note, whether you are able to receive reimbursement or not, payment for services with Conscious Path is required at the time of the visit.
If utilizing a superbill, please contact your insurance to verify the following:
- Is there coverage for out-of-network couples therapy?
- Is there coverage for out-of-network individual therapy?
- Do I have deductible to meet?
- What it the reimbursement rate?
A superbill is a detailed invoice or receipt provided by healthcare providers to patients who pay for services out-of-pocket. This document includes information about the services rendered, such as the date of service, type of service provided (e.g., couples therapy session), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes for each service, the provider’s information, and the amount paid by the patient.
Patients can submit superbill forms to their insurance companies for potential reimbursement. Insurance companies use the information on the superbill to process claims and determine coverage eligibility. While superbill forms do not guarantee reimbursement, they serve as documentation of the services received, making it easier for patients to seek reimbursement from their insurance providers.
Yes. If you are requesting a statement of charges (super bill), please indicate so at the start of therapy. Statements will be distributed once a month.
If utilizing a superbill, please contact your insurance to verify the following:
- Is there coverage for out-of-network couples therapy?

Payment Options and Therapy Costs
Each Session is 50 minutes long however, longer “intensive” sessions for couples can be arranged depending on availability.
Typically, sessions are scheduled once a week through the beginning of treatment. This allows us to build momentum and not feel like we are starting new every meeting. As symptoms reduce, it may be appropriate to move sessions to biweekly, monthly, or as needed. Sessions may also be spread out to accommodate financial need if therapeutically appropriate.
Therapy is an investment in your health, happiness, and future. Session fees with Conscious Path Therapy are as follows;
- Individual Therapy $200 for a 50 minute session
- Couples Therapy $240 for a 50 minute session
Fees are based on the type of service provided, frequency, etc. Accepted forms of payment are cash, check, or IVYPAY credit card system designed for therapists allowing you to use your credit card or HSA account credit card.
